Hand Baggage Rules!

Excess baggage and Credit Card charges are a major revenue earner for airlines.
Budget airlines are increasingly relying on extras to boost their revenue. Budget airline pioneers Ryanair raked in over £400 million in baggage fees last year.

Passengers tempted by fares that are comparable to a visit to Starbucks soon see their headline fares pushed dramatically higher with stealth fees for checked in baggage, credit card fees and excess baggage fees.

Bargains are still there to be had but you have to be savvy. Try to take only hand luggage (and make sure it is within the size and weight limit) invest in a set of luggage scales Luggage Scales and look for reduced card charges by using a pre pay card. Ryanair do not charge a fee if you use a Pre Pay Mastercard such as the FairFX Anywhere Card

Here is a list of the latest hand baggage allowances for UK airlines.
